Learning to use your muscles properly will change the way you move in the world, and Pilates supports that process.

If you’re struggling with a stubborn injury, have chronic pain, or just feel stiff and out of shape, you’re in the right place!

When you’re injured staying active is critical, but you want to make sure that you have the knowledge to move safely. I’m here to help you with that! I specialize in working with injured bodies, and I collaborate with physiotherapists to help my clients feel stronger and move without pain.

How it works

As a first step to working together, we’ll begin with an introductory session. This is designed to assess areas of weakness or injury, and to fully understand your goals. You’ll also be introduced to the principles of pilates and learn some of the foundation exercises.

After the first session, most of my clients continue to work with me on a regular weekly schedule to feel the very best results. Our regular sessions will continue to build upon one another: Each week, we’ll explore and address proper bio-mechanics, get you moving safely, and strengthen and condition your body. The exercises are always customized to meet your needs and will challenge you in a supported and gentle way.

CINDY’S REHAB CASE STUDY

u

Reason for Coming to Pilates

Cindy came to me from a physio referral to address low back pain, and mid-back/neck and shoulder pain due to an overactive lat muscle.

l

Course of Action

We focused on strengthening Cindy’s deep postural and core muscles and gluts to better support her torso. Bringing awareness and strength to her core muscles took a lot of stress and strain from her neck and shoulders, which were working as her main support system. We looked at her shoulder blade movement and worked on balancing her serratus anterior muscle with the overworking lat muscle. This brought more freedom to her shoulder and neck movement.

N

Success Story

Cindy’s love is gardening, but she was unable to do it without being in pain. After working with me, she is now able to garden for a good 45 minutes to an hour pain-free. She has the tools and know-how to take care of her body before and after to reduce her chance of re-injury.
