Using movement to heal

“Movement is a medicine for creating change in a person’s physical, emotional, and mental states.” Carol Welch

I am a big believer that movement is medicine. Not just what movement does for our mental state (be it walking, dancing, Pilates or weight lifting) , but how smart movement (learning the biomechanics to better support movement) can heal the body as a whole.

One of the elements of Pilates I absolutely adore is how versatile it is. Regardless of where you are in your fitness journey, recovering from illness or injury, just starting out or full-time athlete, Pilates has something to offer you. Pilates is accessible and achievable for all bodies, and that is very empowering as we take control of our physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.

While categorized as a Restorative Pilates class, this shoulder focus class is beneficial to everyone. We look at shoulder mobility and stability and explore muscle activation and release. If you suffer or have suffered from neck and shoulder tension/pain, or perhaps you have been sitting at your home desk for longer hours than you would like, this class is for you. Let’s reconnect, recenter and rebalance our shoulders together.

Cheers,

Robyn
